Morningside College
Share

Morningside College was established in 2006 with a generous and imaginative founding donation from the Morningside Foundation.

Morningside College is fully residential and accommodates 300 students. Its relatively small size allows for a level of intimacy among students and personalised learning experience that is possible only in a small and cohesive community.

‘Morningsiders’, as our students call themselves, value ideas, diversity, creativity, individuality, and civic responsibility. Its student body is one of the most diverse in the University, with residents from all over the world. The College aims to help students develop the values, intellectual breadth and practical skills needed to play leading roles in a wide range of disciplines and professions.

A sense of social responsibility and engagement is central to the Morningside ethos. All our students take an active part in community services throughout their university years. These and other activities lead them to a deeper understanding of themselves and of how they can have a positive influence to the world.

Professor Nick Rawlins is the College Master and a Pro-Vice-Chancellor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He was the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford and is Emeritus Professor of Behavioural Neuroscience at the University of Oxford where he also holds Emeritus Fellowships at University College and Wolfson College. He is also a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences and the British Psychological Society.
