University Orientation Day 2025

The University Orientation Day will be held on 7 August 2025 (Thursday), which aims to prepare new undergraduate students for a flourishing and fruitful university life.
A. Orientation Talks
On the University Orientation Day, talks will be organised to highlight the importance of CUHK core values, university life planning, and mental wellness.

B. College Introductory Talks and Consultation
The nine Colleges will organise introductory talks to introduce their distinctive features, educational ideas, hostel and facilities, scholarships and financial aid, as well as other student resources, etc. on the University Orientation Day. New students can also meet with the College representatives at the consultation session.

C. Promotion of Student-led Orientation Activities for New Undergraduate Students (organised by senior students)
New students can visit the promotion booths of their respective faculty or departmental orientations to connect with experienced students and learn more about their programme, university life, and other orientation activities.

- For College Orientation Week information, please proceed to the College consultation venues.
- Applicants for the above orientation activities is not required to make any payment on University Orientation Day. Fees will be collected via the tuition fee note in September.
D. Campus Access
To access the CUHK campus on University Orientation Day and until 13 August, all students must download the CUHK Mobile Pass app. The app generates a dynamic QR code that enables campus access by scanning it at designated readers. The app is available for download on both the App Store and Google Play.
For JUPAS students:
- You will receive an invitation email on 6 August afternoon with an activation link. Please use the link to create your account and activate campus access as a visitor. Each activation link is valid for one device only, and cannot be reused.
For non-JUPAS students:
- If you have received your USID, please download the CUHK Mobile Pass app and activate your student account.
- If you have not yet received your USID or have not accepted your offer from CUHK, please seek assistance from our security staff at the entrance and present the following documents:
- i. Your offer or conditional offer letter
- ii. A valid form of identification
The CUHK Mobile Pass is not only essential for campus access during Orientation Day but will also serve as an alternative method of campus access for CUHK students in the future.

E. Special Arrangement of On-campus Rehabilitation Bus Service
A free on-campus rehabilitation bus will run between the University MTR station and Central Campus during the University Orientation Day. For students with special needs, please call 3943-5441 (CUHK SEN Service) to reserve the rehabilitation bus service.

F. Bad Weather Contingency
If a black rainstorm warning or a typhoon signal No.8 or above is in force at 7:00am that day, the University Orientation Day will be postponed to 8 August 2025 (Friday).
