In case of emergencies, members of the University should seek prompt treatment at the Accident and Emergency Department of Prince of Wales Hospital in Shatin or any Hospital Authority hospitals. To call an ambulance, please dial 999. To contact Security Unit of CUHK, please dial 3943 7999.

Students with significant and chronic diseases are advised to attend Health Education Unit at LG/F of University Health Centre to fill in the health assessment form receive relevant health advice.

 

University Health Service

University Health Service is a comprehensive health care facility that provides primary health care to full-time students, staff, and dependants of staff. There are 8 full-time physicians, 5 dental surgeons and 3 dental hygienists. The health clinic is equipped with a minor operating theatre, dispensary, medical laboratory and physiotherapy unit. A multidisciplinary staff comprised of physicians, nurses, dispensers, physiotherapists and health educators to provide primary medical and dental care services. For the appropriate and more serious medical conditions, referrals to specialists and hospitals can be arranged.

The Health Education Unit organizes regular talks, student activities, awareness campaigns, and vaccination programmes. It also gives advices on the special needs of students with chronic diseases.

University Health Service (Dental Unit)

The Dental Unit provides both preventive and curative services, as well as dental prosthesis.

Appointments can be made via telephone, internet or in person. Basically the medical and preventive service is free of charge. The Dental Unit charges a nominal fee.

Chinese Medicine Specialty Clinic cum Clinical Teaching and Research Centre situate

The clinic is opened to CUHK affiliated persons and the public. New patients call to make appointments within Clinic service hours for consultation reservations within 14 days, or login Clinic website for new patient registration. Existing patients may login the Clinic website with patient numbers on IC cards. New patients may need to allow more time for particular Chinese medicine practitioner reservations with extended waiting lists.
